Cost Estimator

A planning tool, not a quote. Understand what drives your price, configure your project by location, and see an honest range before you ever talk to a salesperson.

How To Use This Cost Estimator

This tool is built from three independent sections below: Cameras, Access Control, and Networking. They do not depend on each other - fill in only what applies to your project. Each one you use adds its own separate line to the estimate at the bottom of the page.

Just need cameras?

Pick the camera type that fits each area you want covered, then enter how many cable runs you need. Every new camera needs one cable run back to your network. Replacing a camera that's already wired and staying in the same spot? You likely don't need a new run.

Adding or upgrading access control?

Count your doors or openings first - each one is priced on its own. Then tell us if a card reader or door operator is already installed. A door that has never had access control before needs a small hardware upgrade (a lock, a sensor, and some wiring), which this tool already accounts for.

Thinking about your network?

Your network is the wiring, Wi-Fi, and equipment - including a switch, which is simply the box that connects all of your devices together - that lets your cameras, computers, and door readers talk to each other. Many buildings already have one in place. If yours does, skip this tab. If you want new Wi-Fi coverage or more wired connections, just tell us how many access points and data drops you need.

Good to know: Cameras, Access Control, and Networking below are three separate menus, not three required steps. If you only need cameras, you can completely ignore the Access Control and Networking tabs.

What Drives Your Security Investment?

Two similar-looking projects can cost very different amounts. These six factors explain why.

Device Type and Coverage

Different spaces require different camera designs. A hallway, parking lot, warehouse and vehicle entrance do not require the same equipment.

Installation Environment

Ceiling height, exterior exposure, wall construction, lift access, occupied spaces and difficult cable routes affect labour and infrastructure.

Existing Infrastructure

Projects may require cabling, network switches, power, conduit, fibre, racks, enclosures or data-room upgrades.

Doors and Openings

Access-control pricing depends heavily on the existing door, frame, lock, power and life-safety requirements.

Licensing and Retention

The product type, licence term and video-retention requirement affect the software investment.

Scale and Phasing

Larger projects may create efficiencies, while phased deployments can address urgent risks first and expand later.

Your Locations

Does this project require out-of-area travel? Travel is not added automatically.

Adding locations does not apply an automatic discount. Multi-site rollouts can create real efficiencies through standardized hardware and configuration templates - a specialist can quantify that during a phased roadmap discussion.

Software, Support and Continuous Improvement

Most Verkada products managed through Command require a software licence. Licence terms may be available in 1-, 3-, 5- and 10-year options depending on the product and configuration.

The licence supports applicable capabilities such as:

  • Centralized cloud-based management
  • Remote access
  • Multi-site administration
  • AI-powered search and analytics
  • System health and alerting
  • Automatic software and firmware updates
  • User and permission management
  • Unlimited Command users
  • Manually archived cloud footage while properly licensed
  • Ongoing platform improvements
  • Technical support
  • Applicable warranty coverage

Exact features, warranty coverage, and licence requirements depend on the product, model, and system configuration.

Put the Investment Into Operational Context

Divide the estimate by a budgeting unit that makes sense for your organization.

One-time capital investment (hardware, cabling & installation)

$0 $0

Annual licensing per tenant

Enter a quantity above

Monthly licensing per tenant

Enter a quantity above

The one-time capital investment covers hardware, cabling, and installation. Licensing is the ongoing annual software cost divided across your tenants for budgeting context only — it does not change the contract structure, invoicing schedule, or licence obligations.

One Technology Roadmap. Built to Evolve.

A modern security program does not need to be installed all at once. Fortified Technologies can address immediate priorities first while creating a roadmap for future cameras, access control, alarms, sensors, intercoms, and other technology.

Start with the highest-priority risks

Expand without starting over

Reduce duplicated infrastructure

Simplify multi-site management

Build one consistent long-term system

Integrated planning may reduce duplicated infrastructure and future deployment costs. Final efficiencies depend on site conditions and project phasing.

What This Estimate Includes

  • Camera hardware for the model types you selected
  • Structured cabling allowance for the runs you specified
  • Access control controllers, readers, and/or video intercom hardware, shared intelligently across doors
  • Door modification allowance where flagged
  • Software and licensing for the selected term (where pricing is verified)
  • A standard local installation allowance
  • Any additional technology you selected (connectivity, CPTED, air quality, guest kiosks)
